Kamal first began his career as a genetic engineer at UCSF. As days in the lab dragged on, he realized his calling was elsewhere. That’s when he discovered his passion for tech start-ups, innovation, and investment. Since then, Kamal has used his keen insight and knack for disruptive technology to found Innovation 360, and then TURN 8, a VC Firm and Growth Accelerator, and has invested over $100M in early-stage start-ups across the globe. With his business ventures spanning the US, Europe, and the Middle East, Kamal is no stranger to designing new platforms for better systems and believes that Anima can bring us the care we all deserve.
A lifelong innovator in technology management, Yousif studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at CalState Sacramento, before finding his true passion in the business and start-up world. Having developed his management style with industry leaders such as DP World, DU Telecom, Dubai eGovernment IT, and Dubai World Group, Yousif then joined Kamal to found TURN8, where he served as a Managing Partner of TURN8’s Venture Capital and Corporate Venture Capital Advisory Practice. He is now pleased to continue his partnership with Kamal as they bring their flair for innovative thinking and disruptive technologies to the Teletherapy sector.
Knowing the importance of accessible medicine, Dr. Mathwich has spent his life aiming to create systems to get care to those who need it most. After serving as an enlisted infantryman in the US Marine Corps and as a deployed physician in the Army Reserve, Dr. Mathwich went on to obtain a medical degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and an MBA concentrating in healthcare administration from Regis University. With multiple degrees in hand, Dr. Mathwich has gone on to dedicate his career to providing care and supporting many medical-related startups to expand and improve our medical system and practices. While no stranger to the tech start-up world Anima is his latest venture to increase access and care connectivity.
Business savvy and serial entrepreneur, Ahmed has led membership development for the Colorado Technology Association and was the Director of Business Development for Amaze Health, a Denver based healthcare startup. Ahmed serves as a Board member for the Denver Workforce Development Board and is a mentor/advisor for groups such as Rockies Venture Club and Prime Health Colorado. Ahmed received his B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
